Meet Mrs. Meagan

Shalom! My name is Meagan and this will be my third year teaching at B'nai Israel. I moved to Gainesville in 2015 from Pittsburgh, PA where I received my BA in theatre arts, and am now semi-retired after 20 years.  Gardening has been a part of my life since I was a kid and have practiced since.  I have managed markets for local farmers, been a beekeeper, worked with butterflies, and am currently enrolled in the Florida Master Naturalist Program. I also volunteer at Grow-Hub & am a member of the Florida Native Plant Society. I cannot wait to share my knowledge and grow together!

Meet Ms. Lucy

Shalom! My name is Ms. Lucy and this will be my first year teaching as the Music and Movement teacher! I moved to Gainesville FL in July from a small town in Kentucky where I worked with horses and taught some horse riding lessons. Music has always been an important part of my life; my earliest memories involve singing religious songs, I also took piano lessons and played the clarinet and saxophone in Middle and High School. I continue to sing in a choir, and I will be taking part in a musical this Fall! I hold a strong belief that music is such a large part of childhood, and I am honored to take part in that. I’m so excited to hear all our friend’s beautiful voices this year!
